Louis C.K. writes himself into so many painful, awkward situations on Louie that sometimes the show is hard to watch. You have to fight the inclination to avert your eyes in horror as he stumbles over his words en route to uttering the absolute worst thing possible, over and over again.

As a result, Louie has doled out plenty of apologies over the course of the show’s three seasons. How many? According to Bryan Menegus, at least 80, which is where he lost count. The BuzzFeed contributor combed over every episode of Louie and compiled a supercut of every time the socially inept comedian says he’s sorry, whether it be for serving his daughters french toast they don’t want, or botching another relationship.
