Listen to the First Song Recorded in Space
With everything man has been able to do in space, it’s a little surprising that there are still firsts, but astronaut Chris Hadfield recently took it upon himself to check another one off the list: recording a song on the International Space Station.
Posted on YouTube Christmas Eve, the station fans buzz in the background as Hadfield sings his original song “Jewel in the Night” backed by an acoustic guitar.
“So bright / jewel in the night / there in my window below / so bright / dark as the night / with all of our cities aglow.”
Check out the song—and the accompanying slideshow documenting Hadfield’s time in space—below.
