Stephen Colbert, Michael Stipe, Mandy Patinkin Perform "Good King Wenceslas"

Continuing to spread his Christmas cheer, Stephen Colbert continued with his “Christmas Carol” week on his show The Colbert Report, this time performing with Michael Stipe and Mandy Patinkin.

The trio gathered together to sing a wonderful rendition of “Good King Wenceslas.” Sitting in a corner, the former R.E.M frontman kicked off the performance with Patinkin (who is an experienced tenor singer) jumping in after.

In other news, it was just announced that Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy, along with Mavis Staples and Sean Lennon, are set to play John Lennon’s holiday classic “Happy Christmas (War is Over)” with Colbert. The show airs this evening at 11:30 p.m. Tweedy and Staples are currently in the studio working on her upcoming 2013 release, a follow up to You Are Not Alone, which was also produced by Tweedy.
