Third Man Records Introduces Vinyl Record Recording Booth for Record Store Day

April 17, 2013  |  11:30am

It’s kind of like a photo booth, but instead of taking four ridiculously small pictures no one really wants, you pick up an instrument and instantly record a song straight to vinyl.

Third Man Records recently released a video of the process behind creating this booth that sends your sounds straight to wax. The record label will open the booth up to the public on Record Store Day. Brendan Benson stars in the short video, directed by White, as the recording artist. White also makes an appearance as a neglected sales clerk.

Watch the video below, and if you’re in or anywhere near Nashville, go to Third Man’s Novelties Lounge to record a song. And don’t worry about the fact that your song probably won’t be as good as Benson’s.
