Stephen Colbert's "Accidental Racist" Parody, "Oopsie-Daisy Homophobe"

What’s the opposite of the “Colbert Bump”? A scathing commentary followed by an awesome song parody of a terribly received single that was intended to be a serious discussion of race relations in America.

Last night on the The Colbert Report, comedian Stephen Colbert and actor Alan Cumming performed their own parody of “Accidental Racist,” the controversial and most recently released song by country music star Brad Paisley and rapper LL Cool J.

Titled “Oopsie-Daisy Homophobe,” Colbert and Cumming’s hilarious homophobia-inspired parody of “Accidental Racist” highlighted its overly simplistic lyrics with its own parallels to gay rights issues and homophobia.

And so, thanks to Colbert and Cumming, we have closure on the auditory punishment that was Brad Paisley and LL Cool J’s “Accidental Racist.”
