Neil Patrick Harris Closes the Tony Awards with Rap

We all know Neil Patrick Harris is a man of many talents. Rapping is one of them.

In closing the Tony Awards Sunday night, Harris informed a disappointed audience that there was no time for a big musical number. Before he could finish saying thank you, however, NPH was interrupted by piano music and proceeded to launch into a rendition of the Jay Z/Alicia Keys tune Empire State of Mind.

Harris was joined by actress and singer Audra McDonald, who performed alongside the Tony's host.

The rap summarized the show's memorable moments and was written backstage in real-time during the broadcast.

Harris also open the awards show, which aired on CBS Sunday night, with a song-and-dance number featuring Mike Tyson. He will host the Emmy Awards later this year.
