Behold: A Yawn-Detecting Coffee Maker

It’s probably safe to say that a large percentage of the population is over-caffeinated, craving caffeine or experiencing a caffeine crash. Read: we’re all tired, and we’re all addicted to coffee. Bearing these facts in mind, Dutch roaster Douwe Egberts has given those of us in search of a caffeine fix all we’ve ever wanted: a vending machine that gives you coffee when you yawn.

The glorious machine, which Douwe Egberts installed in South Africa’s O.R. Tambo International Airport, uses facial-recognition software to detect yawns and dispense free cups of coffee.

Sound too good to be true? Check out the vending machine in action in the video below, which features a lot of tired-but-pleasantly bewildered-looking airport travelers.
