Bill Murray Dazzles as Liberace on Late Show Appearance
Bill Murray said last night that he was at the 20th Anniversary of Late Show with David Letterman for one reason only—to pay tribute to the talk show’s host by dressing up as Liberace, of course. But he didn’t stop there. Along with the showy regalia, Murray’s grand entrance included an all-white Rolls-Royce, a toy poodle and even his own personal chauffeur. All he was missing was the candelabra.
Letterman, clearly touched by Murray’s tribute, swooned that his “heart [had] now taken flight.” Murray was close to being upstaged by Paul Shaffer in the battle for most ridiculous attire, but the actor’s touching rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” gave Murray the clear victory here.
