Night cityscapes are no strangers to artistic interpretations. Artist Yukino Ohmura uses small dot stickers in vibrant colors on black acrylic backgrounds in a unique way to recreate the blaze of neon city lights. Dot stickers jump out from the pieces as individual lights or groups of lights tend to do. From a distance, the stickers blend together and make the pieces passable as blurred nighttime photographs of frenzied lights. The stickers are available at common stationary stores and popular among Japanese school children. Yukino told The Verge each scene takes two to three weeks to create. Subjects include Tokyo Station, Shibuya and Tokyo Dome, among others.
