Going where Gary Lightbody has gone before, tonight Brandi Carlile (Paste Four To Watch artist and April recipient of a Bud Scoppa feature profile) will get her first, significant network television exposure, at least in prime time. Her song “The Story” (written by bandmate Phil Hanseroth) will not only be on the soundtrack of Grey’s Anatomy, it will actually get the music video treatment, a la Snow Patrol’s “Chasing Cars.” This means that you’ll have to endure snippets from the soapy show in between performance clips of Brandi & co.

I’m not really a fan of Grey’s Anatomy, and wasn’t really a fan of The O.C., but I AM a fan of Alexandra Patsavas, who’s selected the music for both shows. She’s managed to build a nice little brand for herself, sort of like Paste, I like to think. (She’s in the process of launching a record label.) Anyway, if you like Brandi or just trust our recommendations, definitely tune in tonight at 9 (8 Central).
