What you see here are the remains of a very sad but very sugar-filled mini-party the Paste staff and interns just had in our kitchen to celebrate/mourn the last day and second-to-last day of our two multimedia interns, Sara and Marvin*. We usually like to mark such occasions with the consumption and or overconsumption of two things: alcohol and/or baked goods. Today we went skipped the booze and went straight for the cookies.
These in particular are from our down-the-street neighbors, The Cookie Studio. They just opened up a little while ago and they’re quickly becoming a Paste favorite. (In fact, when Associate Editor Kate and I were on our way back from retrieving these this afternoon, we passed Deputy Editor Jason pulling out of the parking lot, and he all but lept out of the car to get at the cookies even though he reportedly already ate two earlier today. Fortunately for us and all surrounding pedestrians and motorists, he managed to contain himself and stayed in the car.)
Cookie Studio is great because not only are their cookies AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS, and not just because the ladies that work there are super sweet, and not because they packaged our two dozen humongous cookies up on a pretty tray with a pretty bow, but also because part of the proceeds of cookie sales go to help out the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children, which helps out homeless and low-income families with everyday necessities and more.

* You might remember Marvin for his gigantic onion ring consumption from one of our ACL recap blogs. Sara also accompanied us on that trip but didn’t do anything totally weird, so she wasn’t in any pictures, but we’ll miss them both the same.
