After Monday's midterm report and Tuesday's TV rant, I'm fitting three days of NaBloPoMo blogroll perusal into one post today, offering up an "N," "O" and "P" title each as further proof of the existence of non-tedious personal blogs. So, No Pasa Nada, Oh! How Lovely! and Pretty Little Mess, congratulations: You get it.

(Speaking of "getting it," here's an introduction to PaMaDoCoBloNaBloPoMoMo. Apparently this acronym has brain-exploding powers. Sorry, brains!)

I imagine that Heather of No Pasa Nada talks just like she types: In exuberant, rambling, side-splitting paragraphs that take hyperbolic self-effacement to unexplored heights. Her recent treatise on vanity license plates is, dare I say it, RLYFNNY. And today's post about a fight with her mother manages to be very personal and very poignant without edging into the icky-squicky territory of uber-overshare trod by so many other bloggers I've encountered this month.

Meanwhile, Jamie at Oh! How Lovely! isn't doing such a great job with the whole daily-posting thing, but is also contemplating what makes a blog work (and what doesn't). After Monday's post, I'm still mulling that over myself, and it was good to read her take-- and those of her readers-- on the subject. Disliking blogs for being "boring" seems a bit obvious, but kudos to the commenter who flat-out admitted her hatred of cats and blogs about them!

The nameless narrator of Pretty Little Mess strikes an admirable balance between personal and service posts, mixing craft tutorials and recipes with bits about her boyfriend and the joys of commuting. I'm gonna throw in a little squicky personal moment of my own, though, and one-up her one-uppage of The Office's Jim and Pam's long-distance relationship woes: Try not living in the same state at all! Ha! But seriously, good luck to you and your dude. And nice Built to Spill reference.
