And now, a brief look at a few of the latest movie trailers to hit the web:

Slumdog Millionaire
Release Date: Nov. 12 (limited)
Director: Danny Boyle
Starring: Mia Drake, Anil Kapoor, Dev Patel

A well-crafted trailer from stunning director Danny Boyle. While the use of critic pull quotes is a little much, the use of "Great DJ" by the Tings Tings is just right (even though we're tempted to put out a PSA that this song is no longer to be used. We're looking at you, Gossip Girl). But then they cue up some instrumental (read: inspirational) ditties to remind us of what we're witnessing. Which, thankfully, is sightly less cheesy than the previous teaser trailers.

Valkyrie
Release Date: Nov. 12 (limited)
Director: Bryan Singer
Starring: Tom Cruise, Kenneth Branagh, Billy Nighy, Tom Wilkinson

Although it suffered loads of criticism right off the bat (likely due to Tom Cruise, and his lack of a German accent), the film slowly roars back with this pitch-perfect action trailer that has blogs rethinking their brush off of the film. Ultimately, it's likely to appease fans of the genre, if nobody else.

I Can't Think Straight

Release Date: Nov. 21
Director: Shamim Sarif
Starring: Lisa Ray, Sheetal Sheth

Other than the horrible title, prototypical gay-film plot (OMG! I just realized I'm gay but my parents will never approve so I'm going to try to be straight!) and grating use of Feist's "1, 2, 3, 4," this film doesn't look half bad.

Angels & Demons
Release Date: May 15, 2009
Director: Ron Howard
Starring: Tom Hanks, Ewan McGregor, Ayelet Zurer

Like many teaser trailers, there is little to go off of here aside from a voiceover. Hopefully forthcoming clips will flesh out how Ron Howard is treating the film adaptation of Dan Brown's bestselling novel.

Last Chance Harvey
Release Date: Jan. 23, 2009
Director: Joel Hopkins
Starring: Dustin Hoffman, Emma Thompson

Although this defintley qualifies as one of those trailers that gives away most of the plot, it's hard not to warm up to the storyline. Two baggage-laden adults meet, share old stories and maybe, possibly, fall in love...if they can learn to let themselves be happy. Say what you want, but we'd rather watch two old people complain about life's troubles as they fall in love than watch two young people play games over text messages.

My Name is Bruce!
Release Date: Open in select cities
Director: Bruce Campbell
Starring: Bruce Campbell

Let's face it. Whether or not you will like this film depends solely on your taste. It's not exactly crossover hit material. Meaning, that if you appreciate the legend that is Bruce Campbell, My Name is Bruce! is right up your alley. If you just hate B movies and the like, well, we'd advise you to stay away from this movie.
