Calexico - 11/25/08 - Albuquerque, NM

This is the last day of the tour, and people are packing and getting ready for departure. We've had a great tour thanks to our helpful crew; Joe Puleo (fantasy-baseball expert and fine-deli adventurer), Frank Marchand III (sound man deluxe and fine purveyor of 15-year scotch), Karin Sung (the person with the friendliest smile and laugh, instigator of many a fine celebration) and Jason Yakel (driver, pilot and international man of mystery).

Tonight we celebrate with some champagne with fellow friends and family including The Handsome Family and Convertino clan. We have an amazing show and the Sunshine Theatre has a great ambience, making this one of the best shows. We've been very fortunate that the tour has done so well and now I am ready for the eight-hour drive back home, I sit next to Jason as he pulls out of downtown Albuquerque along Interstate Highway 25. The city lights fade slowly away and soon we are out among the darkness of the New Mexican night.
