Hello from Seattle! So the last few days have been tiring and busy, a
lot of driving. We played four nights ago in Paris at a beautiful
Theatre called Marigny. Paris is a beautiful city; we got to walk
around a bit. We saw the Eiffel Tower up close, which was amazing. The show went very well. The next morning we drove four hours to Dijon for
our second to last show in Europe with Mercury Rev. Great show as well,
though Dijon was a somewhat strange town.
The next morning, we geared up for our last show, which was
in Barcelona. The nine-hour drive was a haul! We drove through the
Pyrenees Mountains which were fantastic. The show in Barcelona was in a
big tent, but was awesome. Mercury Rev was a stunning show live, both
visually and audibly.
After the show in Barcelona, we went to the airport around
1 a.m. and parted ways with our dear friend and tour manager, Eike. After
a four-hour wait (sleeping on the ground in the airport), we finally woke
up and checked in to board our flight to Frankfurt, from where we would
fly all the way to Seattle.
We finally arrived here in Seattle
yesterday afternoon. We found out our van broke down en route from
Chicago to here (!), so we are currently trying to figure out how we are
going to finish our tour down the West coast with The Sea and Cake.
Wish us luck.
Love,
Jonny.
