According to Apartment Therapy New York, Orla Kiely has designed a housewares collection for Target, set to be in stores the first week of Feb. 2009 This is hugely exciting news for everyone at Paste who love flowers and pears and aprons and serving trays (so, basically, pretty much just Kate and me).

Looks like the mostly-least-icky of the big box retailers is taking a similar approach to home decor as they have with fashion, bringing in established designers to craft more reasonably-priced versions of their stylish collections. That's what we're hoping for, at least. Surely Kiely's Target collection won't just be more heartbreakingly adorable, $22-a-pop coffee mugs, right? Because that'd just be mean.

Check out Apartment Therapy's preview of the collection right here. (Thanks to Door Sixteen for the tip.)
