Paste's Holiday Gift Guide for Music Lovers

The holidays are quickly approaching, and we consider it our duty to keep you from buying Weezer Snuggies. Here are some ideas for the music lovers in your life—assuming you've already bought them subscriptions to Paste

1. Neff Knit Headphones, $42
Because what music lover doesn't want a pair of headphones that look like earmuffs?

2. Little Horn Speakers, $1850
Incredible sound quality aside, these speakers are gorgeous!

3. Encore Board Game, $14
A great gift if you’re spending time with family over the holidays. Players come up with songs that contain particular words, and teams take turns singing and guessing songs.

4. Let's Talk About Love by Carl Wilson, $6
It is our best music book of the decade, after all.

5. 45 Storage Box, $31.50 for two
Nothing fancy, but it’s hard to find quality storage boxes the right size for records. One box holds up to 225 records, and it blends right in with any décor.

6. Light On The South Side, $60
Numero Group’s coffee-table book contains black and white photos of Chicago’s South Side nightclubs in the ’70s, and includes two bluesy LPs and an essay by Nick Hornby.

7. Dark Was The Night, $13
This 4AD compilation, released early this year, features 31 fantastic songs from Bon Iver, The Decemberists, Iron & Wine, Sufjan Stevens, My Morning Jacket, Andrew Bird and more. Proceeds go to an HIV/AIDS awareness charity called the Red Hot Organization.

8. Andrew Bird concert poster, $25
Or any beautiful concert poster, for that matter. This one’s by Aesthetic Apparatus, and it tempts me to break my no-posters-in-the-house rule.

9. Ion USB Turntable, $120
This USB turntable is small and light enough to take anywhere you go. The Ion makes converting vinyl to mp3s easy, and it plays 33 rpm, 45 rpm and 78 rpm records. You can even output it to better speakers.

10. Nike + iPod Sport Kit, $29
Put a sensor in your running shoes, and it tracks your run and sends the data to your iPod—time, distance, pace and calories burned. You can choose a playlist or go with Nike’s sport-music selections to run with the beat.
