When Laura Cantrell received the invitation in 2009 to put together a musical program for a Country Music Hall of Fame exhibit, the singer-songwriter received more than just a few minutes in the spotlight. It was this opportunity, in which she paid tribute to “Kitty Wells: Queen of Country Music,” that inspired her to sit down with her friend Amy Allison and write “Kitty Wells Dresses.” You can find it on her recent album Kitty Wells Dresses: Songs of the Queen of Country Music, which was recorded in Nashville with the help of producer Mark Nevers and released this past May.
