Although label True Panther is based out of New York, according to their website, “the label was started in SF and we left our heart there.” The city of San Francisco recently passed Proposition L (AKA the Sit/Lie Ordinance), banning sitting or lying on the sidewalk on top of any object. The label decided to do something about the law they said “criminalizes the poor without coming up with solutions but also makes a potential offender out of anyone wanting to relax in a lawnchair in front of their house.”

Ty Segall, Fresh & Onlys and Girls are only a handful of the 21 Bay Area-based artists appearing on the True Panther compilation Finally Champions. A full 100 percent of the proceeds generated from the mp3 album’s $1 price-tag go to benefit the SF Coalition on Homelessness.

Finally Champions is available for download at True Panther’s website.
