1. Animal House (1978)

Director: John Landis
Starring: John Belushi, Tim Matheson, John Vernon, Karen Allen, Tom Hulce, Peter Riegert, Stephen Furst, Mark Metcalf, James Daughton, Kevin Bacon and Donald Sutherland

Syllabus
Sometimes the most obvious choice is the best, and this comedy classic easily takes top honors. A tribute to writer Chris Miller's days in the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity at Dartmouth and writer Harold Ramis' in Zeta Beta Tau at Washington University, Animal House is at once hilarious, heartwarming, irreverent and absurd. The ensemble cast is on fire through the whole  film, but John Belushi still manages to the steal the show as lovable maniac Bluto Blutarsky.

Classic Quotes
"Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son."

"Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! And it ain't over now."

"Christ. Seven years of college down the drain."

"I'm thinking that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part."

"Thank you, sir! May I have another?"

"Now, she should be good-looking, but we're willing to trade looks for a certain... morally casual attitude."

"You can't hold a whole fraternity responsible for the behavior of a few twisted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't you blame the whole fraternity system? And if the whole fraternity system is guilty, then isn't that an indictment of our educational institutions in general? I put it to you, Greg—isn't this an indictment of our entire American Society? Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America!"
