I admit it—I read every 25 Things
list posted by my Facebook friends. Even people I haven’t seen since high
school. I didn’t make a list for myself, but I couldn’t resist compiling one
for the entire Paste staff. Turns out, we’re a quirky bunch! If you’re one of
those people who finds these sorts of things narcissistic and annoying, then stop
here and check back tomorrow for a new List of the Day. But you will miss out on learning that our multimedia producer sang for
the Pope. Enjoy!

Wow #25 sounds amazing! Would really like to hear more about it. Any info?
who's taking Jason's job then? please tell me he'll still be involved. Paste's Irish correspondent?
On Ted Williams... when I was six years old, my Dad - who used to go see Ted wen he was a kid - took me to my first game at Fenway. It was April 1986. Before the game - Rangers vs. Red Sox, with a pre-steroids Roger Clemens starting - there was a charity event called the Old Timers Game. It was a seven-inning game featuring retired Red Sox players vs. a smattering of retired players from different MLB teams. I saw Jim Lonborg, Carl Yastremski and many others. Oldest player on the field - Ted Williams, age 69. Can't remember which at bat, but Williams rocked one into the right field bullpen, just like he used to. There were about 10,000 people who made it out early to that game. I'm guessing there weren't too many kids 6 years old or younger - so I'm probably one of a couple hundred people under 30 who saw Teddy Ballgame go yard.
@Brian,
You surmised correctly. The underwater concert really did "sound amazing." I was in the fishing village of Ísafjördur attending a music festival called Aldrei fór eg Sudur that an Icelandic songwriter named Mugison started there a few years ago. Every year, whoever happens to be performing upholds the tradition of going to a nearby town a couple fjords over to this indoor swimming pool. The year I went, the incredible singer Ölóf Arnalds sat on the pool deck in her one-piece bathing suit and a swim cap strumming a tiny guitar. There were wires running to special underwater speakers that travel through water at a special frequency that you can only hear when your ears are submerged. If you email me at jason@pastemagazine.com, I'll send you a couple pictures my wife took.
