In less than 48 hours, I'll be floating in the middle of the Caribbean, covering singer/songwriter cruise Cayamo, which Paste is co-sponsoring this year. Here are a few loosely-themed vacation songs fellow cruisers and I might hear by artists busy rockin' the boat.

"If I Had a Boat" - Lyle Lovett
This song pretty much sums up the desires of anyone who's ever felt fed up, low down, burned out and cashed in. Sometimes, after being landlocked so long, you need to get the hell outta Dodge; what better way than having a floating place to go where you call the shots?

"Gulf of Mexico" - Shawn Mullins
Mullins' ballad of love gone cold is set against the backdrop of the hot and humid Gulf Coast.

"One Big Love" - Patty Griffin
"Let's take a ride to the seaside / We can go out swimming in the high tide / Just wear your shorts and your long hair / Don't forget the lawnchair"

"Cannonball" - Brandi Carlile
Whooooooooooooooooooooooo! Here I go! Cannonball! Wait a minute. Who drained the pool? (Something tells me this song was not about what I thought it was.)

"Get Out the Map" - Indigo Girls
"I'm gonna clear my head / I'm gonna drink that sun ... Get out the map and lay your finger anywhere down / We'll leave the figuring to those we pass on the way out of town"
