It's that time of the year when the May flowers are allegedly right around the next bend. But why not enjoy the precipitation while it's here, especially when there are so many great songs inspired by it? Below are six of my favorite rain-themed rock songs:
Bishop Allen - "Rain"It's like this song was made to be the soundtrack to spinning around in the middle of a Spring shower.
Sonic Youth - "Rain King"
Just like that one Counting Crows song. Except, well, nothing like it at all, really.
Guns N' Roses - "November Rain"
Not a huge fan of GNR. Luckily, I am a huge fan of anyone who struts out of a wedding to shred a guitar solo in the middle of a desolate plain.
Tom Waits - "Make it Rain"
He's not brandishing a handful of stacks and you probably don't need to grab an umbrella, but this song is still Waits at his gritty best.
The Jesus and Mary Chain - "Happy When it Rains"
Just like that one Garbage song. Except, well, you know...
Prince - "Purple Rain"
Best. Power. Ballad. Ever.
Obviously, there are about 4.3 quillion other songs featuring rain. If you would like to argue for your favorites, by all means, please do so.

You forgot 'Chocolate Rain' by Tay Zonday. Not my favorite (I'd have to say 'Dry the Rain' by the Beta Band) but definitely the first one that popped into my head. And...now it's stuck there...awesome. Also, 'The Rain Song' by Led Zeppelin and 'Fire and Rain' by James Taylor. Oh, and 'No Rain' by Blind Melon. There are a lot...
