One of our colleagues is now working his way through The Wire, and although we're happy that he gets to experience what may be the best television show ever, we feel a twinge of sadness knowing that—having already devoured the series—we'll never again see a new episode. Fortunately we'll always have these scenes to look back on with a smile and a well-placed expletive.
1. Omar and Brother Mouzone: a hitman reunion.
2. A Baltimore cop's Irish wake, featuring a sing-a-long to The Pogues!
3. Clay Davis berates the mayor with his signature catch phrase.
4. Chess in the low-rises: a lesson in power.
5. McNulty and Bunk investigate a murder scene using limited vocabulary.
