Dear Slayer,
Thanks for the List of the Day idea. Drinks on me the next time you visit Atlanta.

the Black Sheep Boy and Black Sheep Boy Appendix (packaged together with the For Real B-Side as Black Sheep Boy [Definitive Edition]) drawn by Will Schaff ranks among my favorite works of art ever. The detail in the engraving is just mindblowing - and each image
is more beautifully terrifying the last.
It also includes one of the greatest liner note lyric moments of all time - "Pause and add your own intentions - right here ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________"
One of the greatest albums of the decade.
Golly, that is one deluxe burrito.
Sorry, I say Abby Road and The Wall are the only two wins in this article.
I've also gotta second everything said by Steven S about the BSB/Appendix by the way. Stellar album. One of - if not THE - best bands ever.
How could you possibly not include Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass Band's "Whipped Cream & Other Delights"?
Rush's "Moving Pictures" was pretty literal. http://tralfaz-archives.com/coverart/R/rush_movingf.jpg
Good call, Dave and CW! I'll keep those on file for the potential follow-up list, "Twenty MORE Ridiculously Literal Album Covers."
Gotta include Metallica's "Load"
Soul Asylum's "And the Horse They Rode in On" would probably qualify for a follow-up list as well.
Ditto on Black Sheep Boy and the appendix.
Also...the first time I saw that Herb Alpert album was in my grandparents' collection...I'm still not right.
