The Ten Best Celebrity Alcohol Endorsements
Page 1 of 2
Celebrities endorse alcohol for a variety of reasons: to cash in (see Diddy), because they really, really like to drink it (see Orson Welles), to promote a movie (see Will Ferrell), and because they're under the impression that a particular type of alcohol has mystical properties that enlighten our senses and help us summon UFOs (see Dan Aykroyd). If you haven't seen the first video, do yourself a favor and watch it.
1. Dan Aykroyd - Crystal Head Vodka
Wow. Dan Aykroyd is nuts! And Crystal Head is a cult—a vodka-loving cult of which Aykroyd and his soft-spoken friend Phil Power of the Newfoundland Liquor Corporation are the only members.
2. Zach Galifianakis, Tim and Eric - Absolut Vodka
Absolut commissioned the comedians to make a short film for its website. Galifianakis called the skit “an homage to The Golden Girls.” Need I say more?
3. Ed McMahon and Frank Sinatra - Budweiser
I’d like to meet the ad exec that came up with the idea of making Ed McMahon and Frank Sinatra, of all people, play cowboys.
4. Billy Dee Williams - Colt 45
Colt 45 does not “work every time.” In fact, it does not work anytime. But this commercial works every time at making me laugh.
5. Orson Welles - Paul Masson champagne
This outtake is probably the best endorsement of all, because Welles is too drunk to deliver his lines.
