If you haven’t noticed, it’s very, very cold outside. As someone without a car, and someone who just moved to the East Coast from California, I’ve come too close for comfort with the Georgia-chill this week. Today it’s supposed to snow—a climate irregularity here which is a pretty novelty, but hurts your hands when you have to walk to work. So for all you snowed-in folks across the country, here’s a list to enjoy the aesthetics of Jack Frosty-ness without any of the “brrr” factor: a handful of excellent music videos featuring—sometimes front and center, sometimes only briefly in the background—the powdery white stuff.
1. Fleet Foxes: “White Winter Hymnal”
2. Common ft. The Last Poets: “The Corner”
3. Mastodon: “Divinations”
4. Jonsi: “Go Do”
5. The Fiery Furnaces: “Tropical Iceland” *
6. Belle and Sebastian: “Fox in the Snow” (Fan-Made)
7. Blue Scholars: “Coffee and Snow”
(Thanks to Jon H.)
Motion City Soundtrack: “Hold Me Down”

It's so simple, but it just works.
I also really like the video for "Mr. Writer" by Stereophonics. I'm not a huge fan of the band but that one's a keeper.
you totally missed imogen heap's video for "canvas" from her album ellipse. shame on you ;)
