Good in the Hood: The Very Best of The Hood Internet

The past two weeks have been fruitful for The Hood Internet, the nom-de-guerre of the best damn mashup act in town. Fruitful might not even be the best word—let’s kick it up several notches to “prodigious.” You see, they weren’t just content to release a killer raft of summer jams on their mixtape with Anatomy magazine last week. No, DJs STV SLV and ABX had to do us one better and drop another kickass mixtape yesterday: Trillwave. This calls for a celebration, and I’m bringing the party wagon right here, right now. Namely, the 15 best Hood Internet tracks: a perfect retrospective for superfans, or a primer for newcomers. (If you’re totally lost at this point, wondering what’s so special about The Hood Internet, consider this: They don’t just make T-Pain’s music listenable, they make it awesome. )

A big shout-out to Soundcloud is in order. Combing through nearly three years (!) of Hood Internet deep cuts, I didn’t come across a single broken embed.
