Thirty years ago this summer, the great British synth-pop act New Order rose from the ashes of Joy Division to become something even greater than what they were. New Order was arguably more influential and certainly more fun than the hallowed, mopey post-punk group fronted by doomed singer Ian Curtis. And today, we look back on their 10 greatest tracks.
10. “True Faith”
9. “Blue Monday”
8. “Run”
7. “Vanishing Point”
6. “Bizarre Love Triangle”

Rhino releases double-disc sets of New Order's…
crystal is a great song albeit older than most of the really good ones... elegia is also a beauty of an instrumental.
I would have liked this list better if you reversed the order. True Faith is my favourite - and Blue Monday.
All great songs, but where's "The Perfect Kiss?" That one is essential! "Love Vigilantes," also from Low-Life is classic as well. Another favorite of mine is "Your Silent Face." Definitely one of their most beautiful songs, if not the most.
I am in agreement with you that New Order is matched by no one in creativity, innovation and longevity. Could quite possibly be my favorite artists of all time. However, Joy Divison was much more than a mopey band. I think you should give Unknown Pleasures a real listen and Closer as well. Ian Curtis was an amazing writer and poet, and Ceremony was written and performed by him originally. Loved the blog!
