The 12 Best Music Videos Starring Animals

With cute animal videos responsible for what is more than likely half of the traffic to Youtube, animals have infiltrated our pop culture in the best way possible. They’re adorable, sometimes disturbing and somehow, make everything better—including music videos. Music videos + adorable animals = almost too much awesomeness to handle. Here are 12 of the very best:

12. Tokyo Police Club – “Wait Up (Boots of Danger)”
This video has enough canine craziness to make any dog-lover squeal.

11. Outkast – “Ms. Jackson”
Who knew a barn owl could throw down a verse with as much skill and finesse as Andre 3000?

10. LCD Soundsystem – “New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down”
Everyone’s favorite Muppet, Kermit, stars in this video and proves that it may not be easy being green but sometimes it’s even harder in New York City.

9. Yeasayer – “Madder Red”
The bulbous, pus-leaking, one-armed star of this video might be an animal but we’re not exactly sure. All that matters is that this brilliant Andreas Nillson production makes us cry and laugh simultaneously with its message of acceptance.

8. George Clinton – “Atomic Dog”
Snoop Dogg, MC Hammer and many more artists had the right idea when they sampled this awesome track from P-Funk all-star, George Clinton. Though the dogs in this video are either animated or people dressed up in dog costumes, they’re still bad to the dog-bone. Bow wow wow.

7. The Black Keys – “Next Girl”
Sexually frustrated dinosaur puppet meets bikini-clad women. Aforementioned women fall head over heels for said puppet and begin fighting over him. The Black Keys parody of the typical “scantily-clad women fawn over music star” video formula looks like a spring break vacation gone oh-so strange.

6. OK Go – “White Knuckles”
OK Go is known for their groundbreaking videos but this one might be the most impressive of all. The dogs featured here know how to get down and they have got better moves than Fred Astaire and Janelle Monáe combined.

5. Moby – “Beautiful”
While the stars of this video aren’t exactly animals, they are certainly going wild in this super dark Moby video. You’ll never look at people in animal costumes the same way again.

4. Basement Jaxx – “Where’s Your Head At?”
It’s been ten years since this video came out and it’s still terrifyingly wonderful. Basement Jaxx puts their faces on the bodies of monkeys and play some serious pranks on an unsuspecting man.

3. Weezer- “Island in the Sun”
Awww. Rivers Cuomo, playing with lions, panthers and baby bears. The world’s nerdiest frontman just got so much cuter.

2. Best Coast – “Crazy For You”
I can haz supah cyoot cats direct mi muzak video?! No waiz1!1!!! Best Coast lead singer Bethany Cosentino loves her cat as much as most parents love their own children. It’s no surprise that she would let her crazy cat friends star in this LOL-Cats-themed video

1. Holy Fuck – “Red Lights”
Feisty felines rocking out on the drums and outrunning dogs in a high-speed car chase. This might be the most badass group of cats in all of history.
