Throughout 2011, we’ve had the privilege of working with some incredible artists who have taken part in a wide variety of Paste
sessions. From inside a historic military fort to on board a Ferris Wheel
, from the shores of Lake Michigan to the Gulf of Mexico to our offices in Decatur, Ga., we captured hundreds of videos. Here are our 25 favorites.
15. Peter, Bjorn and John – “Dig A Little Deeper”
Before Peter, Bjorn and John kicked off their 2011 U.S. Tour in Atlanta, they stopped by the Paste office to play a few songs from their latest record Gimme Some.
14. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. – “Nothing But Your Love”
Watch Detroit indie-pop duo Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. showcase a compelling blend of infectious harmonies and catchy hooks during our Paste Party in Austin at last year’s SXSW.
13. The Head and The Heart – “Winter Song”
While The Head And The Heart were the last band we filmed and recorded as this year’s Newport Folk Festival, they certainly weren’t the least by any measure. The Seattle outfit brought a stripped-down version of their powerful folk-pop act into Fort Adams.
12. Grouplove – “Colours”
Pensacola Beach, Fla.
While preparing to record a private session for Paste’s film crew at the DeLuna Fest, Grouplove looked longingly at the water as we walked down the beach. They cracked jokes at each other’s expense, offered out globs of sunscreen and expressed an immediate desire to go swimming. That desire proves overwhelming as Grouplove decide to leave the safety of the sand and play acoustically in the water. Not the part of the shore where the tide would graze the bottom of their feet, but in the ocean.—Adam Vitcavage
11. My Morning Jacket – “Outta My System”
Touring behind their sixth studio record Circuital, My Morning Jacket came through Atlanta this August. We filmed their soundtrack performance, where they played several songs including this cut from their new album.
