Howdy! In honor of the Honky Tonk Hogstomp that was held at my house this weekend (calm down, everybody…no hogs were harmed), we’ve compiled a playlist of songs that aren’t country, but you’d think they were based on the title.
Enjoy, y’all!

I always read the word “Barfly” as “Barf-ly"… instead of “Bar-fly.” Maybe appropriate, given the party inspiration of this list?!
"Middle of Nowhere” Hot Hot Heat
Along those same lines, “Road to Nowhere” by Talking Heads would surely qualify…
look at my rotund belly, there’s nothing poser about that
Does an entire country album by a non-country band count? Well, then you gotta throw in Ween’s 12 Golden Country Hits. I realize they are actual “country” tunes, but if you know Ween and had never heard the album, you’d say to yourself - What the hell?...and then - damn, this is a good album.
