PASTE Magazine Gets Its Wings
American Airlines to Feature the PASTE Beat
Decatur, GA (August 14, 2007) - Beginning September 1st, American Airlines passengers will receive a special treat with the introduction of “The PASTE Beat.” A new channel featured on the American Airlines in-flight audio program, “The PASTE Beat,” produced by PASTE magazine and Beat Marketing, will offer great music, exclusive live recordings, and artist interviews.
With content changing every month, “The PASTE Beat” will feature two
hours of audio programming curated by PASTE and Beat marketing,
including tracks from PASTE’s “4 to Watch” acts, along with exclusive
live recordings and artist interviews culled from PASTE magazine’s
private concert series “PASTE Presents
” Additional live/exclusive
tracks will be recorded by artists in the PASTE studio at the
magazine’s headquarters in Decatur, GA.
“We’re incredibly
excited to be working with American Airlines. As the world’s largest
airline, carrying over 4.2 million passengers every month, this
initiative will help introduce PASTE to a diverse and captive
audience,” explained Paste Publisher/President Tim Regan-Porter. In a
recent survey, 72% of American Airlines passengers said they use the
in-flight entertainment systems.
The September PASTE Beat
includes tracks from Paul McCartney, Norah Jones, Nick Drake, Feist,
Johnny Cash and Patty Griffin, plus 9 exclusive cuts from artists like
Cold War Kids and Brandi Carlile.
Music appearing on The
Paste Beat will be featured concurrently at a network of leading
independent music retail stores including both major retail coalitions—C.I.M.S., and AIMS.
“Partnering with Beat Marketing has been a perfect fit,” added
Regan-Porter. “We're able to give exposure to worthy artists through
the radio channel, retail program and the magazine itself.”
