InStoreShows.com Debuts

Paste Magazine Launches the Web's Only One-stop Directory to In-store Concerts

Decatur, GA (April 18, 2008) - Paste magazine (www.pastemagazine.com) has announced the launch of “InStoreShows.com,” a comprehensive guide to free concerts in record stores nationwide.  This fully searchable database allows users to search free shows by store, zip code and date, in addition to offering day-before-show and day-of-show email and text message alerts.

“Culturally, local record stores are an important part of- and contributor to, our communities.  With the music business in flux, and with these stores struggling for patrons, it’s crucial to find ways to help them succeed,” explained Paste President Tim Regan-Porter.  “Initiatives like this weekend’s national Record Store Day are vital and hopefully InStoreShows.com will bring additional help and assistance.”

In-store concerts have become more and more commonplace in the last few years, with up-and-coming artists seeking additional avenues for exposure, sales, and buzz-building, and with more established artists seeking ways to connect more intimately, with fans.  Usually cheap, if not free, in-store concerts are fan-friendly in every way but one: it can be hard for fans to know when and where these shows will occur—but now, through InStoreShows.com, fans won’t ever miss a beat.

InStoreShows.com—Paste’s first foray into the mobile world—joins Paste Media Group’s increasingly diverse suite of Web sites, which include PasteMagazine.com, PasteCultureClub.com, PasteRadio.com and PasteVision.tv.
