COMING TO A CITY NEAR YOU...Paste:Local!
Paste Magazine launches Web sites for Atlanta, Chicago, New York
Decatur, GA (September 9, 2008)-Adding a new dimension to its award-winning coverage of music, film and culture, Paste magazine has announced the launch of Paste:Local, a new series of city-specific blogs which will explore and celebrate the artistic happenings in vibrant and creative locales across the United States. The launch kicks off with Atlanta, Chicago and New York, with additional cities to be added in the months ahead. The sites can be found at:
www.pastemagazine.com/atlanta
www.pastemagazine.com/chicago
www.pastemagazine.com/newyork
Through Paste:Local, readers can find local news, reviews, music, interviews and profiles, event listings, and more—and all with the same Paste touch and sensibility that readers have come to know and trust. Each blog will be maintained by a local editor with help from local writers who have expansive knowledge of and enthusiasm for the music, film and culture being produced in their city. Editors for the first three cities include: Julia Reidy (Atlanta), Althea Legaspi (Chicago) and Sean Edgar (New York).
“Taking the Paste mission—“signs of life in music, film and culture”—and refining it locally was a natural and necessary progression for the Paste brand,” explained Josh Jackson, Editor-in-Chief. “Our web presence was already strong through pastemagazine.com which offers exclusive songs and videos, daily news, and one-of-a-kind features like “Dear Diary”—where artists like G-Love and Josh Ritter blog from the road. Paste:Local will only serve to expand our online appeal.”
Now in its sixth year, Paste magazine is one of the fastest-growing, independent entertainment magazines in the country. Having just won its 3rd consecutive Plug Award for ‘Magazine of the Year’ and recently nominated for a National Magazine Award, Paste is dedicated to bringing its readers thoughtful analysis of music, film and culture. From mainstream artists to lesser-known independents, Paste seeks to find and expose the art that best enriches our world.
