A Day in the Life: Cabinet

Photographer Doug Seymour has had the unique opportunity to work closely with a variety of musicians over his career. As a result, he is often granted access to behind-the-scenes moments rarely seen by fans. Most recently, Seymour documented a day in the life of Pennsylvania bluegrass band Cabinet. The band, who has toured with the likes of Yonder Mountain String Band and The Allman Brothers, spent the day making a press appearance at WITF followed by sold-out performance that evening at The Abbey Bar at Appalachian Brewing Company. On Feb. 9, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Zach Hurd prepared at Hotel Monaco in Philadelphia for his gig at Burlap & Bean in Newtown Square, Penn., an intimate listening room and one of Philadelphia’s best-kept secrets. The following morning, Hurd was the featured guest on WXPN’s “Folkadelphia” show, hosted by Fred Knittel in Philadelphia. Hurd recently released his third album, She Never Sleeps, which was produced by Robert DiPietro (Norah Jones, Josh Rouse).
