As TMZ reports, Amy Winehouse’s cause of death has been determined as a direct result of over-consumption of alcohol. Coroner Suzanne Greenaway told the website that her July 23 death was ruled to be a “Death by misadventure,” stating that Winehouse voluntarily consumed the alcohol. A trailer was released yesterday for Amy Winehouse’s last completed work. The song is a duet with Tony Bennett called “Body and Soul,” which will appear on Tony Bennett: Duets II. The song will be released as a video and a single on iTunes on Sept. 14, Winehouse’s birthday, and all proceeds will go toward the Amy Winehouse Foundation. Sept. 14 will also be the launch date for the foundation, which was founded by Amy Winehouse’s father, Mitch.   read more

2011 MTV VMAs Officially Hostless, Tony Bennett Joins Amy Winehouse Tribute

Despite promising a wealth of live acts featuring some of the latest and greatest in music and entertainment, this years MTV Video Music Awards will not feature a host for the night's events. Billboard originally reported in an interview with Amy Doyle, MTV executive VP for Music and Talent and executive producer of the awards show, that attempts to select a host were going "down to the wire". The website later updated the article to feature an editor's note claiming that MTV later decided to go with no host. This isn't the first year that the awards ceremony has gone sans-host; both 2004 and 2007 were also hostless evenings.  read more
