Kanye West recently stopped by the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival to hop onstage with his longtime hero and frequent collaborator Q-Tip. The two raged through a very spirited rendition of the fan favorite “Award Tour” from A Tribe Called Quest’s Midnight Marauders. Apparently not satisfied with the crowd’s reaction to West’s presence, the former Tribe MC refused to let the song continue until the crowd’s enthusiasm matched his own. July 4 has come and gone, and while Kanye and Jay-Z didn’t drop Watch the Throne as was rumored, the two did reveal some new information. The collaboration album now has a shiny, gold cover and is available for pre-order at Island Def Jam’s website. According to the receipt, the record’s release date is Aug. 2. According to Ryan Seacrest, we’ll only have to wait until July 11 to hear some new music from the pair. The Idol host also speculated on his radio show that a tour will follow the album’s release.... read more
