The New Normal Review: "The Goldie Rush" (Episode 1.12)
In the last few episodes before its almost month-long winter hiatus, The New Normal had started to address the show’s problems in a very strong way. Goldie had a purpose, Bryan didn’t seem quite as self-centered and Jane had scaled back the constant racism quite a bit. But having made many of these changes, The New Normal still can have episodes that can grate on the nerves. read more

According to the New York Daily News, NBC is quietly exploring the possibility of having Jimmy Fallon replace Jay Leno as host of the Tonight Show when the latter’s contract expires in 2014. Although 30 Rock is coming to an end, Alec Baldwin is sticking with the peacock network—at least for two more years. Deadline reports that the actor has signed a new two-year overall deal with Universal Television that will have him developing and producing projects for NBC in which he may also star. His co-star Tina Fey recently signed a similar four-year deal with the studio. Baldwin can currently be seen on 30 Rock’s seventh and final season, Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on NBC. He also lends his voice to Rise of the Guardians, which is currently in theaters.... read more
