NBC Preps Dwight Schrute Spinoff

First Michael Scott left The Office and now perhaps Dwight Schrute? Looks like NBC is ready to give Rainn Wilson his own spinoff for a midseason 2013 premiere. Though no deals have been finalized, it looks like Wilson and producer/writer/star Paul Lieberstein have been brewing this idea for a few years now.  read more

Hesher Wows Sundance, Gets Acquired by Newmarket Films

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has come a long way since ’90s favorites Angels in the Outfield and 10 Things I Hate About You, and he proves it in Hesher, a film that premiered last Friday at Sundance. Paste editor-in-chief Josh Jackson raved via e-mail, “Gordon-Levitt is unbelievably good. He plays the worst kind of degenerate who still somehow manages to be the redemptive catalyst.” Apparently Newmarket Films agreed with his and myriad other positive reviews in Park City; yesterday the company acquired the rights to the film for a seven-figure sum....  read more

Manchester Orchestra producing 11-part concept video

Although they first caught our eye long ago, Manchester Orchestra have been gathering national steam ever since releasing their debut full-length album, I'm Like A Virgin Losing a Child. Since then, the Atlanta-native indie rock outfit has quickly grown in popularity (you know you've arrived when Rainn Wilson gives you a Twitter shout-out).
