Jonsi and Cameron Crowe teaming up pretty much makes perfect sense. Crowe has used music in his films like _Say Anything_ and _Almost Famous_ to craft his cinematic worlds, while Jonsi and his work at Sigur Ros is probably some of the most cinematic music imaginable. So for Crowe’s newest film _We Bought a Zoo_, not only did he play Jonsi music for his cast, but also got the musician to create the score for his first fiction film since 2005. read more

The new Sigur Rós live album/documentary, Inni, has all sorts of goodies. But now, one of the exclusive tracks off the deluxe edition of the project has made its way to the web. "Lúppulagið" is an atmospheric instrumental track that finds the band falling back on guitar swells and plinking pianos. Although you won't hear frontman Jonsi Birgisson's distinctive voice on this one, its quiet stillness is still unmistakably Sigur Rós. read more

Sigur Rós announced today that their double-live album, Inni, will be released on Nov. 15 on XL Recordings. The album and film will be released on several different formats, including CD and DVD or Blu-Ray versions that include four extra songs, a triple-LP version, a digital edition and a deluxe edition. The album is available for pre-order on Amazon.com, XL Recording’s website, and Sigur Rós’ website. read more

Just a few days ago, Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós released a video for a song called "Klippa." Directed by Sarah Hopper, the cinematic video is eerie and bizarre, depicting three people silently cutting up articles of clothing (and jewelry and shoes) in a dark, cellar-like room for no clearly established reason, then dancing together in the shadowed corners of the room. read more

A few days after a mysterious trailer was posted from the Sigur Rós camp called _Inni_, the band has released a statement that _Inni_ will be a live concert film and double album. The film was shot over two nights, at London’s Alexandra Palace, which includes their last show before they went on an indefinite hiatus in 2008. The film was directed by Vincent Morisset, who directed Arcade Fire’s _Miroir Noir_ and will make its debut at the Venice Film Festival on Sept. 3. _Inni_ will be available to purchase in November. read more
