The latest ’80s horror franchise to return to us with Michael Bay’s name stamped across it, A Nightmare on Elm Street, finally has a full trailer. It looks like the others: an artificially stylized rewrite of the original, with the usual terrified pretty faces filling out the foreground. Happily, the movie has a potential secret weapon: Jackie Earle Haley, the increasingly well-liked co-star of Little Children and Watchmen, who took over the role after fans lobbied for him to get the part. Nightmare on Elm Street reboot confirmed

Platinum Dunes, the production company through which Michael Bay produced remakes of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hitcher and now Friday the 13th, has confirmed plans to remake Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street.
