Modern Family Review: "Me? Jealous?" (Episode 3.14)

After a few weeks off, ABC’s top-rated comedy Modern Family returned this week with a Valentine’s-themed episode. Sort of. Unlike the past Valentine’s Modern Family episodes, which focused on Phil wooing Claire (remember his alter ego Clive Bixby?), this episode spread the love—and the green-eyed monster—equally among the Dunphy and Pritchett family members. read more

Modern Family Review: "Egg Drop" (Episode 3.12)

Modern Family has had an uneven third season thus far, falling into predictable paths for throwaway laughs and crafting plots that really go anywhere. (Like what was the point of last week’s trophy competition between Cam and Mitchell?) But the show finally cast off the doldrums with this week’s ‘Egg Drop”, a fast-paced, zany episode that had the Pritchett and Dunphy clans involved in various hi-jinks—and not just for cheap laughs. read more

Modern Family Review: "Lifetime Supply" (Episode 3.11)

Even during its winter break, _Modern Family_ was busy off the airwaves—collecting accolades. The ABC show earned Golden Globe nominations for Best Television Series, and for best supporting actor (Eric Stonestreet) and actress (Sofia Vergara). The Screen Actors Guild Awards also honored the cast with nominations, including Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and individual nods to Ty Burrell, Eric Stonestreet, Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara. read more

Modern Family Review: "Treehouse" (Episode 3.07)

Steven Levitan, co-creator of Modern Family, cracked us up at the Emmys in September during an acceptance speech. Thanking the audience after the show picked up the award for Best Comedy, he told a story about a gay couple who thanked him for making people more tolerant.
