Alison Krauss and Union Station tour with Tony Rice

Alison Krauss and Union Station team up with flat-picking acoustic guitarist Tony Rice for a string of dates later this year. Also featuring dobro by long-time Rice collaborator Jerry Douglas, the tour will be comprised of songs from Rice’s 35-year career. In other Rice news, he will release Quartet, an album with singer-songwriter Peter Rowan on January 30 on Rounder Records. The album also features Bryn Davies on bass and vocals, and Sharon Gilchrist on mandolin and vocals. Alison Krauss On Tour With Jerry Douglas

Alison Krauss and Union Station are currently touring with Dobro legend Jerry Douglas. The tour began in January in Chattanooga, promoting Krauss’ new album Lonely Runs Both Ways. Krauss and Douglas have announced 26 dates with more to be added in the coming weeks. The pairing will also make appearances at Bonnaroo and the Telluride Bluegrass festival this year. New Alison Krauss Album Set for Release

On Nov. 23, Rounder Records will release Lonely Runs Both Ways, the first studio album in three years from Alison Krauss + Union Station. Produced by the band and recorded in Nashville, the album features songs by some of its favorite writers, including Robert Lee Castleman, Sidney and Suzanne Cox, and Gillian Welch and David Rawlings.
