Because the British power trio's songs are so simple and unpretentious, falling squarely in the standard guitar-bass-drums format, it's unsurprising that their majestic rock conjures a lot of easy reference points. read more

It’s been a little more than a year since Band of Skulls released their Shangri-La debut, Baby Darling Doll Face Honey_, and the UK-based trio has already told Spinnercontent=Google+Reader they will begin recording their next album later this year. Drummer Matt Hayward said the band will wrap up their current tour with a show at London’s Forum October 7 and subsequently hit the studio. “That show will probably finish the tour, then we’ll get cracking on the second album,” he said. “Everyone’s itching to get back into the studio.
