Billy Crudup joins cast of Mann's Public Enemies

Universal already confirmed Johnny Depp and Christian Bale as stars in director Michael Mann's upcoming flick, Public Enemies, adapted from journalist Bryan Burrough's nonfiction tome Public Enemies: America's Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933-34. Now Billy Crudup has been added to the cast as FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, Variety reports. Depp is to play John Dillinger, while Bale steps into the big shoes of legendary FBI agent Melvin Purvis.
