Jug band documentary premiers at Woodstock Film Festival
Pull out the banjos and Popcorn Sutton moonshine, for a jug band might just be coming to a theater near you soon. This weekend, Chasin’ Gus’ Ghost premiered at the Woodstock Film Festival in New York. The documentary looks back on the history of American music, tracing it back to the days of jug bands. The film features '20s grassroots artists like Gus Cannon and his Jug Stompers, The Memphis Jug Band and the Dixieland Jug Blowers.
