First, a quick recap: In its first three episodes, Community has introduced us to the college, the main cast of characters, and Joel McHale as Jeff, an asshole lead with a heart of gold. Community on NBC (Awesome of the Day)

Since the days of Cosby, Cheers, Family Ties and Night Court in the '80s, NBC has worked hard to deliver a solid two-hour block of comedy programming. Seinfeld and Friends dominated the '90s, alongside forgettable shows like Suddenly Susan and Veronica's Closet. For a brief moment in 2007, it looked like the Thursday night magic was back with The Office, 30 Rock, Scrubs and My Name Is Earl. But then Earl jumped shark after shark only to get canceled and Scrubs migrated to ABC. Four New Fall 2009 TV Shows We Already Love

I'm not what you would call a casual watcher of television. I don't flip through channels, catching a random episode of a new show. If I'm going to start watching a series, I'm going to start from the beginning and either give up quickly or catch every single episode. This summer, I've been devouring The Wire and Mad Men, plus I still want to start Dexter and Breaking Bad. And I'm looking forward to Lost, The Office, Chuck and 30 Rock returning. NBC's Community Stars Joel McHale, Might Be Funny

With Kath & Kim apparently drowned in a pool of its own self-tanner, Parks and Recreation floundering despite itself, The Office seeming more and more like a show sadly past its prime and Chuck still chugging right along despite—wait, Chuck is still on?, it might not seem like the best time for NBC to introduce yet another comedy about lovable losers. Still, Fall 2009 will apparently see the debut of Community, a sitcom starring Chevy Chase and The Soup's Joel McHale (RIP Talk Soup) as bumbly adult students just trying to survive an inglorious return to post-secondary education.... read more
