The Deadstring Brothers have been living it up in 2007, or at least keeping busy. Yesterday, they released their third album, Silver Mountain, and have been on tour since the beginning of the month. Now, the grassroots-rock band is getting into film. No, the Detroit-based group has not been hand-picked to do the soundtrack for O Brother, Where Art Thou This Time? or Cold Mountain: Resurrection. Detroit-based, country blues rockers Deadstring Brothers have announced they will release their next album, Silver Mountain, Oct. 9 on Bloodshot Records. The new album is said to be inspired by the band’s nights at London’s Heavy Load Club, an underground venue run by folks named Heavy Load Rod and Hippy Karen devoted to – what else - vintage rock.
