While Record Store Day always provides a slew of limited-edition releases featuring previously unreleased songs and rarities, usually only a few hardcore fans or collectors end up in possession of those elusive RSD-exclusive releases each year. For the rest of us less-than-obsessive listeners, we usually end up waiting until the following week for these tracks to surface on the Internet. Case in point: Deerhunter’s impressive B-side “Nosebleed”— a track which was released as the Atlanta rockers’ “Memory Boy” 7” this past Saturday. Last night, Deerhunter took to The Late Show with David Letterman to perform “Memory Boy.” Following Amy Poehler and Dusty the Cat, the group rockers performed “Memory Boy,” bringing in fellow Atlantans Cole Alexander from Black Lips and Adam Bruneau from The Back Pockets to join on the song. The two-minute drone breakdown impacted Paul Schaffer enough to make him have a “flashback,” while David Letterman seemed to enjoy it too, chiming in after the song “That was nice, guys!” Check out Deerhunter’s performance of “Memory Boy” below....  read more
